Serves: Eversource, National Grid, Unitil, and Cape Light Compact customers in Massachusetts.
Do I Qualify
- Use a supported thermostat with central cooling.
- Window air conditioners and heating-only equipment do not qualify.
How Much Comes Off

| Income-eligible smart thermostat enrollment | Customer on an R-2 rate; supported thermostat controlling central cooling. | $100 per thermostat |
| Smart thermostat annual participation | Remain enrolled in the demand-response program. | $20 per thermostat per year |
Who Files It
The customer enrolls through the thermostat partner linked for their electric sponsor.
The money is paid to the homeowner.
The Steps to Apply
- Choose your sponsor on the program page and enroll the thermostat.
- Allow summer demand-response adjustments. You can override individual events.
