Terms

Cite It

You can quote a range or a rebate fact. Cite it with a link to the page it is on and the date printed beside it. The date matters: a range changes each quarter and a rebate changes when the program does.

Do Not Copy It

Do not republish a page, a cost table, a rebate page or a data file in full, on a site, in an app or in a model's answer. A copy with the numbers and without the link, the sources and the date is a copy of the wrong thing: it goes stale and it names no source.

Sources

Public sources are credited on the page that uses them: the utility's rebate chart, the city's permit records, the national cost database. Their terms are their own.

No Advice

A range is a market figure, not a quote. A rebate page reports the program's rules on the date read. Your contractor's estimate and the program's own page decide your case.

Questions about these terms go to the editor named on every page. See About.
