Greenville Utilities Commission Smart Thermostat Pilot Program: Open
Enrollment for 2026 is open. Open. If you have an ecobee thermostat, sign up for the Smart Thermostat Pilot Program.
Serves: All of Greenville and 75% of Pitt County within GUC's electric service area.
Do I Qualify
- Be the residential account holder where the compatible ecobee thermostat is installed.
- Maintain Wi-Fi and a compatible AC, heat pump or electric furnace.
- The controlled equipment cannot already participate in Beat the Peak.
- Remain enrolled for the initial year to avoid the early termination charge.
How Much Comes Off

Who Files It
The account holder enrolls through the ecobee app.
The money is paid to the homeowner.
The Steps to Apply
- Enable eco+ and Community Energy Savings in the ecobee app.
- Choose Greenville Utilities and complete enrollment. Read enrollment instructions.
