Xcel Energy Heating System Rebate: Open
Enrollment for 2026 is open. Open to North Dakota residential natural gas account holders buying qualifying equipment. Rebate qualifications and amounts are subject to change.
Serves: Fargo, Grand Forks, West Fargo, Mapleton, Buffalo, Casselton, Emerado, Horace, Oriska, Prairie Rose, Reille’s Acres, Riverside, Tower City, Thompson and Wild Rice.
Do I Qualify
- You must hold an Xcel Energy residential natural gas account in North Dakota.
- Existing homes qualify. Buy new equipment listed in the residential AHRI directory.
- Finish the installation before applying. Include the equipment details and a dated purchase invoice.
- Used equipment does not qualify. You cannot receive another Xcel Energy rebate for the same improvement.
How Much Comes Off

Who Files It
The account holder signs the application. The contractor supplies the equipment and contractor information.
The provider pays either the contractor or the homeowner.
The Steps to Apply
- Ask Xcel Energy to confirm the published furnace tier before buying. Read the application.
- Install the qualifying furnace. Keep the invoice and AHRI certificate.
- Apply online or mail the completed application. The postmark deadline is September 30 of the year after purchase. Apply online.
